Overseas Keralites is an untapped and rich resource that can facilitate rapid transformation of Kerala. It is not just because of their annual remittance of Rs.80,000 Crores which almost equals State's budget, which in turn contributes about 30% of the State GDP, but also through their talents and experience; their disciplined work ethics which is appreciated globally and their commitment and emotional attachment to their own home state, Kerala. Further their ability to bring disruptive global ideas that can take Kerala to next futuristic strata.
Realising this strategic strength, first Loka Kerala Sabha "LKS" directed to take decisive steps to tap this opportunity. Accordingly Government of Kerala formed Overseas Keralites Investment & Holding Ltd "OKIH" to realise this vision.
